Mother of man killed at former Club Twenty3 sues owners, security firm in wrongful death suit | Local News | lancasteronline.com

The mother of a Mississippi man killed at the now-closed Club Twenty3 nightclub in Manheim Township two years ago is suing its former owners and its security company over his death.

Jatavis Devonte Scott, 25, was shot in the club's parking lot March 19, 2022, after a fight broke out inside. He died during surgery.

On Feb. 1, a Lancaster County jury convicted Tyler Wilson, 30, of Columbia, of third-degree murder and related offenses. His sentencing is scheduled for May 28.

The wrongful death and negligence suit, filed Monday in Lancaster County Court, claims the club failed to keep Scott safe by allowing Wilson there and serving him, even though he had a history of being drunk and fighting.
