2019 Columbia Borough Meeting Calendar includes changes in meeting times

The 2019 Columbia Borough Meeting Calendar includes some important changes. Instead of the usual one council meeting per month, there will now be three: a work session and two regular meetings (as shown in yellow on the calendar above). Also, the meeting night will change from the second Monday to the first, second, and fourth Tuesdays.

Several of the monthly committee meetings will become part of the council meetings to promote better communication between the committees. Other commissions and boards will meet on the dates shown above.

The first regular borough council meeting of 2019 will be on Tuesday,  January 8, at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 308 Locust Street.

  1. So does this mean $100 for each meeting for council or do they have to pass a ordinance first to take more money for there service to Columbia? Some would say disservice!!

    1. Council pay is $100 per month (less withholding taxes) no matter how many meetings. I will be curious to see how it works this time. Work sessions (committee of the whole meetings) were tried several years ago and didn't work.

  3. Council people must like to attend meetings. What was wrong with the way it was. Probably Murphy's idea again and his counterpart Berntheizel. Can't wait on the next election. Hope people get in who like to save taxpayers money.

  5. Thank you Mayor Lutz for the 441 bypass, if you take all the money that youall put into the money pit this town would be quite nice place to be , but alas you didn't , please step down and let a real business person in there to clean house and do the right things instead of whats going on now.
