With regard to the homebuyers program for eligible low- to moderate-income first-time homebuyers, LHOP's Ray D'Agostino says the borough agreed to provide a match to LHOP's $5,000 closing cost assistance no-interest loan, which raises the figure to $10,000. In the program's first 10 months, there were 15 new homeowners in the borough, he says. The homeowner rehab program is just getting underway, so he does not have any data for that program.

DeleteMORE JUNK PEOPLE MOVING INTO TOWN, LET THE WORKING MAN PAY MORE TAXES AND THE JUNK PEOPLE GET A FREE RIDE. THANKS MAYOR LUTZ AND COUNCIL WE COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU.
ReplyDeleteYour disgusting.
DeleteThis is what we are getting with the police not holding people responcible for there actions.
DeleteOMG. You posted an article that has positive news about Columbia! Be still my heart there is hope!
ReplyDeleteNot ALL in Columbia is "positive," some of this is simply the truth which people view as negative. However, for the record there have been numerous "positive" articles that the Spy has posted. Most recently, the "Art Printing" article which took several hours of work from interview to completion. I'm busy now, but I will count all of the positive articles and print the total. Sharon Lintner
DeleteSpy does a outstanding job on positive things in town when they happen.
DeleteThank you Sharon it is not your or Coles fought that this council or mayor tell people whats happening in town,
DeleteLancaster news reported 3/31/18 that 2/3 of students in Columbia come from economically disadvantaged households, but yet this mayor and council keep putting tax money in to the river park and other realistate pits,HELP HOME OWNERS, DON'T KEEP BITTING THE HANDS THAT FEED YOU, EVEN DOGS UNDERSTAND THIS!
ReplyDeleteWhat does the borough want with hotel locust,4th and locust lot,are they going to lose money like on 208/210 locust, the turkey hill ex,river park ,Columbia#1 building, this council/mayor/managers(2),would not spend there money like this, why ours?
DeleteTake the good with the bad, thank you Spy. Without you we would really be in the dark.
ReplyDeleteBack in the 70es the same thing happened. Money was given toward buying a house to people that can’t afford to own a property. If they can’t afford to purchase the property how will they pay the taxas and do the maintenance?
ReplyDeleteThis is all bull... I'm sick of my insanely high taxes going for crap in this town. Crappy school, highly overpaid positions not needed, fixing up a park that will be vandalized by the little hooligan's in this town, bulletproof glass. What's your comment on this borough & school councils?
