I have to wonder about the waiver of fees for use of school property. If a group wants to use the auditorium for a 2 hour concert, 2 times a year ,a freewill offering is received to offset rental of the auditorium, and for them to buy music. I have nothing against the use of the gym for basketball, but I hope that group gives a donation to offset the use of the gym.
As an organizer and former player of the Men's Sunday Morning Basketball program at CHS, I would like to explain how the school does benefit from this. The players contribute money to play each week which was kept by me and was given to any organization that needed funds for extracurricular activities at the high school. Having kept records I can remember donating well over &7,000.00 in just one year. This has been going on the entire time the program has been in operation.

Think they would waive the fees for the auditorium for David Baldinger to come and give an informational session about HB/SB76?
ReplyDeleteWhat criteria determines waiver of fees? I would think when you have some staff member present, not on their regular schedule, overtime would be paid.

As the person who wrote the original post, I commend your group for helping organizations in need. Keep up the good work and showing Tide Pride.
