At Columbia High, students and teachers tackle hands-on lessons by raising trout in classroom

After months of excitement about the prospect of raising trout in their classroom and releasing them into a local stream, the big day arrived for about 20 Columbia High School students.

  1. It was a delight to read about the Tide students and their science related project of raising fish and stocking the streams. Too many times, Columbia kids are portrayed negatively. Over the last three months, we had students excel
    in boys and girls basketball, the spring musical, and now the fish project.
    Hopefully, the eyes of Lancaster County will see the students in a different light and give Columbia students the respect they are do.Proud to be a grad of Columbia.

  2. This must have been the "promised" article the DOO promised at a recent school board meeting. Wonder how he knew it was coming?

  3. Even though I am not a Strickler supporter,it is the students who did the work,not him. The article is about their accomplishment, not the DOO.
