The Columbia Borough School Board will hold a Special Meeting on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in the District Administration Center, 200 N. 5th Street to discuss the vacant board position and take any necessary action, and to address any other matter that comes before the board.
The legal notice is HERE.
School board members should vote to end this nonsense with Elanco.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that all these problems are caused by this agreement.
If this agreement was never approved and the director position was never approved and the state money is not coming, a vote to end the agreement should be taken because this agreement is under scrutiny, unfunded, costly, and it causes great concern for Columbia citizens.
DeleteMany comments on this site express interest in removing the director of operations.
ReplyDeleteIf the focus would be instead to end the agreement for it's obvious shortcomings, then the director of operations would go , along with the misguided agreement.
Who were the candidates?
ReplyDeleteFrank Doutrich filed a petition for the seat.
ReplyDeleteJenna Irene Geesey was interviewed by the board last week.
If Mr. Doutrich's petition is thrown out by this board and their attorney, then there is little hope for integrity in the process.
DeleteFrank Doutrich refused to take part in the interview process set by the board. He did not petition for the seat, he petitioned to have the courts decide who would fill the vacancy, which means they could appoint one of these candidates or neither.
DeleteI don't think that's correct. Frank Doutrich paid $164.25 to file a petition containing 11 signatures supporting him for the seat.
DeleteGovernment slanted, as per usual. The court did not and will not be hearing interviews for the position yet they can decide? The resident paying $164.25 and gathering signatures is not acting on his own behalf? Employees at the courthouse had no idea what to do with this matter. It's a COURTHOUSE, one might expect the employees there to know something about it.
DeleteRight you are! At my job I'm expected to know where to guide people and what is needed to complete their request.
DeleteThe only way to end this agreement is to fill the board meetings ,tell the board members your wishes, through voices, signs, or petitions.
ReplyDeleteLet a Columbia citizens panel consisting of Democrats and Republicans pick a candidate.
ReplyDeleteNo, that might be fair.
DeleteAs with the borough council, reality is that about four or five people are in control of our tax money. Even if everyone in town were against spending on a particular project those few that have control could do it. So, use of OUR money good or bad rests in the hands of four people.
