Columbia Borough Council will interview for a vacant council seat this coming Thursday, February 2, at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 308 Locust Street.
The same night and at the same time, the Columbia Borough School Board will hold its Committee of the Whole meeting at the District Administration Center, 200 North Fifth Street.
Both meetings are open to the public.
What is the difference between a school board meeting & a committee meeting of the whole? Which one is the public to attend. I think comments cannot be expressed at the meeting of the whole?
ReplyDeleteI believe that the public may attend both and should do so. Sometimes things are discussed at the committee of the whole that perhaps the public would miss. Please try to attend, there is strength in numbers.
DeleteCommittee of the Whole meetings consist of input from various committees and are generally less formal than the regular meetings. They're often considered to be "work sessions." The public may attend committee of the whole and regular meetings.
