At least half a dozen police departments responded to an incident on the 200 block of Locust Street at about 3 a.m. today. Officers scrutinized the exterior of surrounding buildings and sidewalks and set up yellow numbered incident markers in the street in front of the Columbia Water Company building. What appeared to be a baseball cap was observed lying in the street near the markers.
A resident of Third and Locust Streets told the Spy that he heard five to six "pops" this morning sometime between two and three o'clock. He also reported hearing a group of women shouting around that time. An officer informed the Spy that a shooting occurred.
Fire police detoured traffic away from the entire block, which was lined with police tape. Police also established an inner perimeter near the center of the block.
More information will follow as it becomes available.

ReplyDeleteGood pictures don't know what is wrong with people today always having to fight
ReplyDeleteI am sure that most of the people that go to that club do not live in Columbia they just come here to start trouble and make the town look bad
ReplyDeleteI said the same thing, I'm betting they don't live here.
DeleteA lot of people that live in Columbia go to that club
DeleteI'm sure that they live here "for now", but they are not from here.
DeleteTime to get this club out of the town the sooner the better.
ReplyDeleteI have a three year old. Coming from Lancaster I liked living here, it was quiet. But these past few months have been getting crazy. I am glad to be moving away from this area. People and the senseless violence is getting old.
ReplyDeleteShow up tomorrow night at the borough council meeting and tell council and the mayor you want Venues OUT of Columbia!!
ReplyDeleteWho is the land lord that owns the building?? They should be exposed!!
ReplyDeleteHave to say this is one of the stupidest things.Everyone is burn8ng Columbia for all the problems and saying you cant wait to move.Notice 99% of the shit goes down here are from people from Lancaster, York, Harrisburg.. Stay in them towns and create problems there. It is not the clubs problem that adults can n9t get together and act mature. Dont know what the problem or who started it but no reason to pull a gun no matter where your from. If you come from another town. Leave that attitude and trash there and start fresh. Why bring all your baggage from one town to the next? Not saying bad abput any town but when you move from philly to lanc to columbia and bring the friends and problems, you bring philly n lanc to columbia.
