When Strickler was on the board, he often made comments that the board had to save money. When this position or whatever you want to call it was created,he added 165,000 dollars. Can he SAVE the district at least that amount by not cutting positions or key services.I doubt it
What is the feeling of the teachers Union? They ought to be at the meeting in protest over this appointment. Chances are he will being doing the hatchet work for Hollister at ELANCO. How are the teachers feeling that if they have a problem, they report to a person with NO degree in education.
Note to Mayor Lutz...there is more than 1 resident of Columbia that is upset by the backdoor, non-transparent way that your buddy Mr. Strickler(Hartman) was given this job! The taxpayers of Columbia are being fleeced once again by the decisions made by the Columbia Borough School District Board of Directors. Every Director who voted for this contract with ELANCO needs to resign! The State Ethics Board needs to be called in to investigate the matter in which Mr. Strickler(Hartman)was hired for this position. Reading the job description, what does this Director of Operations position even have to do with education? It appears as though it was written by Strickler(Hartman)to incorporate the things that he was doing as Board president. So, 94k plus benefits for a glorified administrative assistants job is ridiculous.
So the mayor thinks this is a good idea...what a surprise. Funny how he always downplays these actions in the media by stating it is a select few that are misinformed. Corrupt minds think alike. Wonder how you sleep at night. So glad I got out of Columbia when I did!
WHY was the mayor interviewed and quoted? Being mayor does NOT make him an expert on all things Columbia. He was not at the meeting. He needs to decline comment. LNP feeding into the spin.
Lutz should worry about borough government, not school board. He ought to realize that this arrangement is going bad, but he has enough problems with the borough. Concentrate on those.
Um...what do you think now? Former board members, former council member, a teacher all voiced their concerns. Still think we're all just talking to each other? Either you are a board member or you love paying high taxes. Maybe both.
It would be great if ALL the comments on this truly stupid school situation were printed and delivered to each board member at Elanco, since they are now in charge of our once proud school district. It would also be interesting if the same information could get into the right hands in Harrisburg.
We may not be able to speak at Elanco, but we sure can show up and hold signs up while sitting in the audience. Asking for termination of the contract. Citing the contract as a hostile takeover of services that the residents don't support.

DeleteMayor's son can worry about the school board.
DeleteHe and some others want to deliberately misinform or rather not inform borough residents.
DeleteUm, do actually think the Mayor, or boro council are aware of or even care about this site? You are all just talking to each other.
ReplyDeleteThey're aware of it.
DeleteOh yes, they ARE aware and the page views are tracked. There is a very wide readership.
DeletePerhaps they don't care, but "Um," yes they are aware. The purpose of comment section is to talk to each other. Why are you on this site?
DeleteUm.....yes council members ARE aware and conversations are taking place all over Columbia, not just on this Web site.

ReplyDeleteGood idea, actually I'll be happy to take care of doing just that.
DeleteCole, did you hear Strickler fans are going to pack the audience at the Thursday night board meeting?
ReplyDeleteYes. All taxpaying citizens of Columbia should attend and make their voices heard.
DeleteWe may not be able to speak at Elanco, but we sure can show up and hold signs up while sitting in the audience. Asking for termination of the contract. Citing the contract as a hostile takeover of services that the residents don't support.
ReplyDeleteNobody has asked these questions.
ReplyDeleteIf there were (10) applicants for this position. What date were they interviewed?
Was Tom Strickler's resignation prior to the interviews?
How could you resign from a non-compensated position before you are a solidified candidate for the DOO position?
Would Mayor Lutz or Director of Operations Thomas Strickler elaborate on these questions.
As a resident and property owner it's just to to to much.
ReplyDeleteGet out OF DODGE AND SELL TO A SLUM LORD
Lutz won't comment,, he speaks out of both sides of his mouth.
