Emergency crews responded to the scene of a vehicle accident today at 5:17 p.m. on Lancaster Avenue, near the entrance to the Columbia Plaza. Reportedly, a motorcyclist traveling east on Lancaster Avenue collided with a westbound van that was turning left into the Plaza parking lot. The motorcycle hit the passenger side of the van near the rear wheel and spun into the opposing lane. The cyclist was thrown about 50 feet from the point of impact before coming to rest in the westbound lane. The motorcycle's front wheel assembly broke off during the collision.
The female cyclist, who was wearing a full face helmet, was conscious at the scene and was treated by medical personnel before being transported by ambulance. The van, a Chrysler Town & Country LXi, sustained passenger side body damage and a rear driver's side flat tire. The male driver of the van appeared to be uninjured.
I hope they cite the van driver.
ReplyDeleteWow have respect for her like for real..........
DeleteWho were the drivers?
ReplyDeleteNames are never released immediately, pending charges upon completion of investigation.
DeleteAs far as "respect for her", there is plenty, several comments came in that will not be posted. AND there are no photos that show her. Even in the crowd picture of the people standing within a few feet of emergency personnel, she cannot be seen and it was not posted.
Over six thousand views in 10 hours. If it's happening it's news.
Wait! I have to make a correction. Names often are released through the ignorant comments on Facebook. They also are able to read just enough to misunderstand.
DeleteHaving an accident is bad enough. Let the police investigate before blaming fault.
ReplyDeleteWhere is there blaming or fault?
DeleteThe FACT is her bike hit the van, it just did. Whether or not that's her fault or the van driver's fault has not been answered or maybe determined. Fact remains, her bike hit the van.
Point is van crossed in front of her !!!!!!
DeleteSays it in the artical , it was NOT her fault , read the artical again and again if you need to !!! Thankyou !!!!
ReplyDeleteYOU need to read it again. Not one word says it was her fault, those words are NOT there. Maybe you are reading into it.
DeleteCorrect! Learn the laws of the road or stay off!
ReplyDeleteIrrelevant if it's a van, car, motorcycle, moped, pedestrian, bike.....
Respect!
Does anyone know how the girl is doing now?
ReplyDeletePeople need to lay off of her. Someone cut her off to make a left turn weather her bike hit the van or not it's not her fault.
They have camera's at every other intersection in town perhaps the cheap arse boro officials should put one there too?
Perhaps they could also answer as to why there is none there currently? Maybe that part of town and it's people are not worthy of a camera on the traffic light? Or the townships to cheap maybe even both.....?
WHen something happens there if a camera was there, there would be no question as to what happens because a lot of bad crap seems to happen there... When you have known crack creatures roaming this town we need all the cameras we can get.
Just a suggestion I mean if I were that girl I'd want people to be able to look at footage and know I was in the right especially for court purposes then to have ignorant people make assnine comments because they are to stupid to grasp the facts they could watch the truth and know for sure... But I guess those who run this town and get say as to what cameras go where would rather leave you all to guess since there is none there.
everyone IS always in a hurry. sorry they upped speed limits to 70 mph on turnpike and other roadways. ALWAYS LOOK BOTH WAYS
ReplyDeleteNo proof needed it was the wording / heading of the article that's left questions and comments as to who fault , if people just read the article and know the area it's all right there what happened !!!! amazingly no broken bones road rash brusing sore body parts head aches Someone was there for her !!!! Thank god.......signed her mother !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAMEN TO THAT..... SHE IS ALIVE
DeleteIm glad that she is doing good
DeleteShe's a real live miracle.....
DeleteThe Angels and God are with her no doubt about that.......
Praise the Lord!
Kudos!!!
ReplyDeleteHate to break it to the "experts" here - but a blog is not the final word on anything. I have a feeling there's going to be more to this story than what we have here.
ReplyDeleteUsually there is more. The "story" also appeared in LNP. No one said or implied that this site was the final word. Personally, I think that bike looked more like a bomb hit it.
DeleteFYI people a left turn causing an accident is an at fault, plus on a bike it's full tort...full sueing ability for injuries.
