Looks very nice. It certainly dresses up the facade. I just wonder why/how the work was completed BEFORE the HARB review and vote at their meeting this coming Weds July 15th 7pm, as noted in the legal notice section of the Lancaster paper this past Saturday? At first glance this seems a touch bit cart before the horse. Did the Kettleworks already install their proposed awnings ahead of time as well? Has the American Legion already installed a vertical platform lift? Certainly doesn't show good government abidance of rules if someone moves forward with a project before its actually reviewed and voted on. Maybe a simple answer is all that is needed. This is in no way an insult or accusation to ANY of the above mentioned organizations and/or businesses, i would hope ALL businesses who are willing to improve their properties can do so, it must be due course for all tho.....
McGinnis had 55 rental properties when he was in office. He was very slick on how he did things in Columbia! Most of his land on the west side is contaminated! Also he dumped air craft fuel and oil in a drain on hes property that went to the creek behind the quarry! These are FACTS!! And he got away with this for years! As i said before, They who have the GOLD shall make the RULES!!!!
Where do the patrons of union station park? There is NO way that we would even consider parking on Fourth Street with the way that area looks, forget it. If Club Good Times is in session, even less parking available.
Looks VERY nice!

Ok... the work was done. What's HARB going to do.... tell them to undo the work and make it like it was?
ReplyDeleteThey might; considering HARB and all of Columbia Council and the Mayor are still in the McGinnis era.
