Accident at the railroad crossing?

There is evidence of an accident at the railroad crossing at the bottom of Walnut Street. One of the barricades is broken, and there is a lot of oil on the road.
No other details are available at this time.

  1. I just called Norfolk Southern. They said no one had notified them yet.

  2. Isn't that a reportable HazMat spill?

    1. I thought so too. The info from your link suggests it is a reportable spill. It took several hours for anyone to respond to the scene. The Norfolk Southern workman said he didn't know what caused the accident. It didn't appear as if anyone responded to clean up the liquid.

  3. "Whatever" hit that barrier has to have driver's side and front end damage. It took some force to bend that metal. The fact that no one notified Norfolk Southern makes it appear as if no one was aware that it happened.

  4. There didn't seem to be much concern about this incident. Oh well, I guess a lackadaisical response is better than no response at all.
