At tonight's Meeting of the Whole, Columbia Borough Council tabled a resolution empowering police to enforce park rules at Locust Street Park, until its November 10 meeting, due to insurance issues.
Details will follow.

  1. Hopefully they will enforce all the park rules and regulations that are clearly posted on the signs at each entrance to the park. There are 3 of them and 1 in center of the park to name a few rules... Dusk to Dawn, NO Skateboards, bicycles, Frisbee and football throwing, loud behavior. it is not a playground.

    1. My guess one or more of these kids are somehow related to a member of Council or the Mayor? that;s why they are stalling!

    2. So by "mgmt who REALLY and TRULY cares about this town" does this include yourself? So should they step aside and make room for you?

  3. This all sounds great, but if the borough takes over the park, waht makes you think the police will enforce the rules? How many times have you watched skateboards go down Locust Street right in front of officers who do nothing about this! Why dont you ask the mayor about this?

  5. I find it offensive that a park has posted rules that include "no dogs allowed". This is already a community unfriendly park so I could care less what the teenagers are doing there, I don't go! Plus Riverpark needs to supply receptacles for bagged dog poop if they actually want people to clean it up.

  6. EXACTLY why "no dogs allowed". there's more than enough dog shit everywhere in the boro...on sidewalks especially makes me mad.
