that's really nice Cole - why don't you post these pictures all over the internet and show everyone how wonderful Columbia is - you of all people should know better then to put this crap on line - please take it down
Yeah lets try & make Columbia someyhing its not. This unfortunately is what Columbia has become, the dumpung ground for Lanc co When you have housing owned by the type of landlords that are buying in Columbia this is what type of people you get. Now that Lanc city has turned itself around & getting rid of slumlords, this is where they'll come.
This is news regardless whether you like it or not. These type of drug using/selling people are taking over the borough. All you need to do is take a walk and you can see it all over the borough. This will be Columbia if all the taxpayers are forced out.
Better check your history. Even when Columbia had foundries, canals, railroad shops, etc there were still slums and slumlords. This is not a recent phenomenon.
The section 8's are the problems, those land lords don't give a dam about Columbia. They get their money and don't give a dam who they rent to. Also, most of them don't live in Columbia!! Remember the Golden Rule... those who have the gold make the RULS!!!!!
If our leaders (school board, mayor,& council members) would proposition the state to eliminate the existing school district & consolidate with a neighboring district to lower the tax rate & give our kids a better education it would make Columbia a more marketable town for tax paying families. If you don't think this is true look at websites for potential homebuyers & how they rate Columbia School District to our surrounding districts.

yeah, but do you really have to make the article with big pictures of their drug crazed faces and little type that you can hardly read ?
ReplyDeleteWhy does some people have to blame Landlords for Columbia's problems? IT IS NOT TRUE. Columbia's problem is NO jobs. PERIOD.
ReplyDeleteColumbia is allowed to have more than one problem. Slumlords is one of the town's problems.

We would NOT have "slumlords" if there were jobs in Columbia. So again this problem is JOBS

ReplyDeleterental fees on apartments should be $1000. per year per unit, then the slumlords would have to raise rents and find better tenants to afford the rent
