Mystery solved!

Little Caesars will be going in at the former Pizza Hut site along Route 462 (Lancaster Avenue), next to Mountville Motors.
It seems fitting that a pizza place will replace a pizza place.

  1. Little Caesars:

For people too lazy to microwave their own frozen pizza.

  2. Doesn't make sense with one already at Kmart.
Why couldn't they have chosen another franchise so Columbia people could have variety ( better quality too)
    Wasted space

  3. just read the new Merchandiser....
    Dear Boro Council
As a hardworking (not collecting free $) taxpaying homeowner...I am 100% AGAINST hiring yet ANOTHER part time code enforcement officer (as advertised in the Merchandiser). IF the 3 did their jobs and ENFORCED VIOLATIONS/ORDINANCES already on the books..it wouldn't be a problem. I think they have lost sight of the purpose of their jobs. ** First and foremost THE CODE OFFICERS should be CONSTANTLY, DAILY, CHECKING ALL KNOWN PROBLEM PROPERTIES....ALL UNSAFE, UNKEPT, VACANT, absentee landlords, PROBLEMATIC
PROPERTIES that someone has to live beside. IF ANY OF YOU HAD TO LIVE NEXT DOOR TO ANY ONE OF THESE PROPERTIES, YOU WOULD CHANGE YOUR TUNE. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. COUNCIL - YOU MUST BE HELD
ACCOUNTABLE. DO NOT HIRE ANY CODE OFFICERS. MAKE THE ONES YOU HAVE COUNT!

Geez... if they need to do that every day, we need at least 50 more code officers.

    3. Columbia is a prime example of the make up of the state of Pa
High taxes, low priced homes equal bad rentals.
Its only going to get worse Columbia residents. Every house that's bought in Columbia by a landlord at a low price is appealled by that landlord to the county courthouse to get their asessment lowered. Its automatically lowered by the sale price. This in turn allows them to pay less in taxes. Everytime the school district or the boro raises taxes property values drop.

  4. wow. i'd have to say i agree! i don't understand what it is that Council isn't held responsible for allowing this unacceptable practice to continue. reign em in. hold them accountable. what a crock. this boro does NOT need anymore code officers....just like it don't need 3 or 4 administrative positions IN ADDITION TO THE SCHOOL SUPERINTENDANT. absolutely ludacris.

    1. the problem with all the big name restaurants is "demographics" - if the income level, traffic count, area housing, etc., isn't high enough to meet their minimums - they won't com

gotta build 500 new luxury condo's on the strip first - then they'll come
