Columbia approves deal to resell Harrisburg incinerator electricity
Columbia Borough officials approved an agreement at the council meeting Monday, Nov. 11, that will make Columbia the contractual conduit for electricity produced at Harrisburg's trash incinerator, a pact that will earn the borough $50,000 annually.
and at the same time, still looking into selling the wastewater treament plant to LASA....at a cost very much the same as KEEPING the one we have and OWNING IT...and MOST IMPORTANTLY CONTINUING TO BRING INCOME INTO THE BORO....Someone needs to do their homework. Councilpersons need to step up and do their homework expecially. Once you sell it theres NO going back....and then YOU are responsible for hammering THE LAST NAIL ON THE COFFIN/THIIS BORO. this affects EACH AND EVERY HARDWORKING TAXPAYING HOMEOWNER IN THE BORO....it's gonna cost much more with LASA. Go to their website and read for yourself. NOW IS THE TIME THAT THESE ELECTED OFFICALS DO THE "RIGHT THING"....unless you think for a second that all the hundreds and hundreds of rental properties are going to keep this Boro going.
the boro will need that $50,000 if they go with LASA.....no sewer money coming in. hell even some of the businesses are leaving. i don't get it-what doesn't this boro and elected officials NOT understand...
