At the Columbia Ghost Tour

On Saturday evening, over two dozen people attended a dinner and Ghost Tour conducted by Chris Vera, president of the Columbia Historic Preservation Society, and Rick Fisher, noted paranormal investigator and owner of the National Museum of Mysteries in Columbia.
After a dinner at Prudhomme's on Fourth, courtesy of David and Sharon Prudhomme, Rick Fisher delivered a lecture and slideshow on unexplained phenomena and hauntings in Marietta and Columbia.  Afterwards, Chris Vera and Rick led attendees on a ghost tour of Columbia's haunted sites and regaled the crowd with accounts of their own encounters with the supernatural, as well as significant events in Columbia's history.

Chris relates his experiences at the Historical Society building

Rick tells of hauntings at Columbia's Bank Museum as an apparition appears at his right shoulder

 Tales of more close encounters

Chris sees something in the dark

Rick talks outside his Museum of Mysteries at 3rd & Locust

Showing one of his collectible artifacts

Also inside the shop, a collection of T-shirts, books, and DVDs

And, of course, Bigfoot

A few video clips from the evening's tour . . .

  5. wow, I was in on Saturday and that Ghost Museum building is sooo cool !! I never realized that Columbia not only has the best Ice Cream Museum in the country, but even better yet we also have an official Ghost Museum with one of the most ( if not the most ) respected Ghost experts in the Country ( Rick Fisher) running the program ! Thanks so much to Renee Seers and to David Doolittle for making this Prime Space available for such a great use !!

  6. We still have two more tours scheduled for the Saturday's of 11/9 and 11/16, which tickets are still available. The cost is $12 per person, ten or more becomes group rate at $10 per person. (Does not include meals). Please call or leave a message at 717-572-7149 for reservations.
Thank you for all the kind comments, Rick Fisher and I enjoy doing this, so people get the understanding of the rich historical value of that Columbia, PA. These tours support both museums and have had over 300 people in just 12 tours in two seasons, and a lot of return visitors.
Thank you Cole for taking the tour with your beautiful wife and promoting CHPS and my endeavors to make Columbia what it was, a Capital of equality and optimism.
    Thank you,
    Chris Vera

  7. I want to thank Chris Vera for reminding us how rich Columbia is...not in money, but in history. He must also be thanked for caring enough to preserve that history and for bringing it to public attention. This wealth of history is the key to bringing business and good people into town.
