WOOPTEEDOO! I'm all for the beautification of Columbia but really I think we have bigger fish to fry than worrying about the parks. Like, oh I don't know...the safety and security of our water supply? The mass feral cat overpopulation? The drugs/crime/vandalism in the borough? The runaway taxes and sorry state of the schools?
They should be ashamed, not ecstatic. This is political bravado plain and simple.
i agree with the 9:57 am post above!!! the Boro really should worry about the hundreds if not thousands of feral cats in the BOro....the taxes are 2nd highest in the state. our schools should be shut down. BECAUSE LETS SEE-WE CAN'T AFFORD OUR PROPERTY TAXES........and then the code office will give fines to people with grass 1 foot high.....INSTEAD of doing some real work, like shutting down the slumlords. take away their licenses. hit em in their pocketbooks...NOW THATS HOW YOU GET ON THE RIGHT TRACK TO FIXING THIS BORO. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE REAL ISSUES HERE. NOT THE BS.
excellant points! have to agree the codes dept is on the wrong track...the ONLY thing they should be concentrating all their efforts on are the serious offenders, the regulars! how is it that plywood covering is ok on Locust St for a front door???? for at least 10 years ???? but grass 12 inches high is a fine? maybe my lawnmower broke, maybe i'm working a 2nd job trying to keep from losing my house, maybe one of my family members is in the hospital terminal...gimme a break, if it ain't out of control and I;m not a regular offender, theres probably a good reason, give me a few days. geez. it doesn't take a brain surgeon to understand. the boro should be trying to educate its residents and work with them (except repeat offenders-fine them)...educate about litter..and recycling..
i agree. mgmt just doesn't get it! i don't know why, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that this Boro is "going under" we TAXPAYING RESDIENTDS just can not afford all this nonsense anymore. I think COuncil lives "under the sea"
Is Karla Farrell (far left) wearing a "Cat in the Hat" hat?

have to say i agree.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of things need done instead of parks where everyone doesn't go. How about the streets?
Deletea lot more needs to be done in Columbia than worry about parks. Our streets are terrible for one.
